About Dr. Sarah Hanisko
and Global Tapestry Education

Dr. Sarah Hanisko is an instructional designer, curriculum architect, and educator who spent a decade watching two problems collide: talented people couldn't break into instructional design, and organizations couldn't find skilled IDs to hire. She decided to close that gap.

As founder of Global Tapestry Education, Sarah created "Breaking Into Instructional Design," a comprehensive curriculum that teaches the full ID lifecycle while learners build an actual portfolio.

Before founding Global Tapestry Education, Sarah spent 12 years in corporate L&D and ed-tech, designing everything from compliance training to onboarding and leadership development. She's built courses in Articulate Rise and Storyline, produced video in Camtasia, managed SCORM deployments, and survived more than her share of scope creep conversations with subject matter experts. She knows the work because she's done the work.

Sarah holds a doctorate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University.

When she's not building curriculum, you'll find her working with healthcare organizations on HIPAA compliance training, helping nonprofits design more effective learning experiences, or mentoring new IDs navigating their first real project.

About Global Tapestry Education

Global Tapestry Education exists to close the gap between who wants to break into instructional design and who's ready to get hired.

We believe that the best way to learn instructional design is to do instructional design. Not to watch videos about it. Not to memorize frameworks. Not to hope that theory will somehow translate to practice. We believe you learn by designing, building, testing, and refining actual learning experiences.

That's why everything we teach is built backward from one outcome: a portfolio that wins interviews.

Our flagship program, "Breaking Into Instructional Design," is a curriculum structured in four phases. Phase 1 grounds you in ID theory and frameworks. Phase 2 teaches you to build the upstream artifacts that good courses rest on: needs analyses, learning objectives, assessment blueprints, storyboards. Phase 3 gets you hands-on with the three industry-standard tools (Rise, Storyline, Camtasia). Phase 4 packages everything into a portfolio and prepares you for the interview that turns learning into employment.

Everything we do is guided by one principle: Design matters. Execution matters. Process matters more than perfection. We teach people to think like designers, not just use design tools.

That's Global Tapestry Education.
